MONTESSORI PROGRAM AGES 3 TO 12 YEARS OLD Montessori Philosophy Fitrah is so basic in Islam and so evident in the way that Mohammed PBUH treated children that it must take a central role in the Muslim way of bringing up children. It is not simply by chance that so many Muslim educators have patterned their schools on the Montessori method. Although Maria Montessori was not a Muslim, she based her entire system of education on the concept of fitrah. She believed that children were born close to their Creator; spiritually pure and inclined towards what is good. Montessori philosophy is based on the understanding that all children are individuals with their own strengths, needs, likes and learning styles. Montessori classrooms are filled with specially designed materials and a prepared environment promoting hands on learning. Instruction is differentiated according to the ability and learning style of each child. Children choose the order of their lessons and work at their own pace until they master the learning. Montessori education complements Islamic education beautifully because the individual is considered as a whole. The physical, emotional, social, aesthetic, cognitive and spiritual needs and interests of the child are inseparable and equally important. Social interactions and manners are emphasized and practiced daily. A caring attitude to all people and planet is nurtured and developed. Children learn Quraan, Arabic and Islamic studies with the same Montessori method and specially designed materials ensuring integration and long term retention of knowledge Extra Curricular Activities - Soccer League
